Spinning Planet OS PreviewBrynux (Spinning Planet OS) is now available for free download. Back in 2009 I wrote a blog that explained how we were migrating from Microsoft Windows to Linux and Macintosh. This has now evolved into our own operating system that we use at Spinning Planet and are now releasing for free to the public. Eventually it will have it's own website but for now I'm making it available for testing.

    Why use Brynux?

    1. It's very secure and doesn't get slow or viruses like Windows.
    2. All the software that comes with it such as document and image editors are free and with the software manager you're able to download thousands of other free software and games.
    3. You can run it in LIVE mode from a USB memory stick which allows you to trial it before you decide to install.

Presently only availble as a 64bit version for advanced users that want to test it.  When we eventually launch the website we'll add other versions that work with older computers and we'll also make tutorials showing you how to install and provide a forum for users seeking support from the SPOS community.

    Installation Instructions

    1. Download Spinning Planet OS from the link above
    2. Download UNetbootin for Windows, Linux or Mac from here.
    3. Run UNetbootin and use these settings to create your SPOS Live USB stick. For best results don't use a USB stick larger than 4 GB.

Once installed you should be able to boot your computer from the USB stick. You can use SPOS in LIVE mode safely without changing any of the files on your computer.  If you decide to install, make sure to backup all of your documents first because everything will be wiped when you install.
